If the full program is not the right fit right now
Every way to work with Iron Ridge and what each costs: a $300 assessment credited against the IOP, the $30,000 program, the $5,000 partner program, coaching.
Iron Ridge is built around one thing: an eight-week intensive outpatient program for men with compulsive sexual behavior, with a partner program alongside it. It is the highest-intensity specialized intervention we offer and it is the right level for most men who reach us. It is also $30,000, and for some men the right level and the possible level are not the same thing this month.
This page lists every way to work with us, what each one is for, what you leave with, and what it costs. Each is described at its actual level of care. None of the lower-cost options is a shorter version of the program, and we will say plainly if the program is what you need.
The options, from lowest cost
| Who it is for | What you leave with | Price | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Confidential consultation | Anyone. Men, partners, referring clinicians. | A clinical conversation, a level-of-care view, and an honest answer about whether Iron Ridge fits. | Free |
| Clinical assessment | A man who wants to know what he is dealing with before committing to anything, or who cannot enter the full program now. | A structured clinical interview, validated screening instruments, and a level-of-care determination, with a referral to the right level if it is not Iron Ridge. | $300, credited in full against the IOP if you enroll |
| Partner & Family Program, on its own | A partner whose husband is not in treatment: in denial, treated elsewhere, or gone. | The full eight-week partner arc: weekly individual therapy with your own clinician, the weekly partner group, assessment at intake, week four and week eight. | $5,000 |
| The eight-week IOP | A man whose pattern has continued despite sincere effort and needs more than an hour a week. | 9–12 clinical hours a week for eight weeks, in person in Austin or by telehealth across Texas; partner program included. | $30,000, 2 × $15,000 |
| Recovery coaching | Men who have completed treatment and want structured, non-clinical accountability. | Month-to-month coaching. Not therapy, not reimbursable, not a substitute for treatment. | $4,500 / month |
All clinical services are private pay with a superbill for out-of-network PPO reimbursement, and HSA/FSA funds may be used. How reimbursement and payment work.
The clinical assessment: what it is and is not
The assessment is the same intake the program uses. A clinician conducts a structured interview covering the behavior, its history, what it is regulating, and what else is present; validated screening instruments are administered; and the result is a level-of-care determination: weekly therapy, an intensive outpatient program, or a higher level. If the answer is weekly therapy, we tell you the kind of clinician to look for and, where we can, a specific one from our referral network.
It is not treatment. It does not interrupt the pattern, and a man who stops at the assessment knows what he is dealing with and what level of care fits; he does not yet have a change. That is worth $300 for a man who is not ready to commit to eight weeks, and it costs nothing extra for a man who is, because the fee comes off the program.
The partner program on its own
Partners are clients in their own right on every page of this site, and that has to mean something when he is not coming. The standalone partner program is the same eight-week arc that runs alongside the men's program: weekly individual therapy with your own clinician, the weekly partner group with other women doing the same work, and assessment at intake, week four and week eight. It works from the partner-trauma model, not the codependency model. What the program involves.
He does not need to participate, agree, or know. Your record is yours.
What we do not offer
A shortened program, a discounted program, or a self-guided version. The eight-week arc is eight weeks because the clinical material surfaces in weeks two and three and the relapse-prevention work happens in seven and eight; a man who does the first half has been through the hardest part without the part that makes it hold. If the arc is beyond reach right now, the assessment and a referral to weekly work with a trained clinician is the honest alternative, and the credit means the door stays open.
Where to start
The consultation is free and is where the level-of-care question gets answered. Cost is a reasonable thing to lead with; you will not be the first.
