About Joshua
Joshua Heater, LMSW (supervised by Eboni L. Ceasar, Ph.D., LCSW-S, Texas license 53065), brings lived experience and structured accountability to individual and group supportive counseling in the men’s program. After building a successful career in hospitality, he discovered that professional achievement did not resolve internal distress. Like many men, he coped through distraction and avoidance rather than healing.
Following profound personal losses and more than five years of sobriety, Joshua began applying the discipline and accountability that once drove his career to his mental health and personal life. He earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and is a Licensed Master Social Worker.

Joshua carries a primary caseload in the men’s intensive outpatient program, working with clients individually and in group across the eight-week arc under the clinical direction of Ian Birdwell, LPC, CSAT. The men he works with tend to recognize the shape of his story before he tells it: a career that worked, a private life that did not, and a long stretch of managing the gap rather than closing it.
