About Nick

Nick Borges is a licensed therapist and clinical leader with nearly 10 years of experience in behavioral health and addiction treatment. Throughout his career, he has worked across residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings, providing individual, couples, family, and group therapy. In addition to his clinical work, Nick has held executive leadership positions, including Clinical Director and Chief Operating Officer, where he played an instrumental role in building and expanding treatment programs, developing multidisciplinary clinical teams, implementing new levels of care, and overseeing clinical and operational services. His experience has shaped a deep appreciation for both the clinical and organizational aspects of providing meaningful, individualized care.

Nick specializes in addiction and recovery, trauma, relationship and family conflict, emotional regulation, and compulsive sexual behaviors. He has pursued advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and sex addiction treatment through his CSAT training. His therapeutic approach integrates trauma-informed care, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered therapy, and family systems principles. Nick brings a collaborative, compassionate, and direct approach to therapy, recognizing that meaningful growth often requires both support and a willingness to challenge longstanding patterns and beliefs.

At the heart of Nick’s work is a genuine passion for helping people better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and build healthier, more meaningful relationships. He believes lasting change begins with honesty, self-awareness, and the courage to explore the parts of ourselves we often avoid or struggle to accept. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, Nick strives to create an environment where clients feel understood, appropriately challenged, and empowered to move toward lives grounded in authenticity, connection, and purpose.

His work at Iron Ridge

Nick facilitates group therapy in the men’s intensive outpatient program, under the clinical direction of Ian Birdwell, LPC, CSAT. Group is where much of the eight-week work happens: men working on the same pattern, alongside each other.
